Capacitive BOPLA completes its product range with capacitive keypads! These keypads are resistant to acids, dust and other impurities. The cleaning of the surface is easy and ensures the highest hygienical standards.

Product description in detail

There is no mechanical bonding to the user and there are also no mechanical buttons. The activated element is seperated from the user because of a smooth surface (e.g. glass, plastic or other non-conducting surfaces) – the surface cleaning is much easier because of the smooth surface. This ensures optimal standards of hygiene and makes it possible to use the machine also in areas with much vandalism or in clean room areas (e.g. medicine- or comestible areas). The smooth surface ensures that only light pressure is needed. A visual and / or acoustic signal can compensate fort he lack of physical feedback. Capacitive keypads can be realized either as single buttons or as keypad arrays – any form is possible. Of cource, cutomer-specific key shapes can also be produced!

Technical realisation

The push-button sensor surface consists of two areas which are kept separate from each other (drive electrode and receive electrode). Vibrations are generated on the sensor surface – they are getting assigned to the receive electrode via capacitive coupling. When touching the surface with a finger the capacity gets added to the human body of the user. The assigned signals get damped. Via damping „touch downs“ get detected and analysed. Digital filters and specially adapted algorithm ensure that both short interference pulses and slow changes (rain, misting etc) cannot result in a malfunction.
