Custom Metal Enclosures

Advantages of special enclosures made of metal:

• Very small quantities produced at lower cost than plastic enclosures
• Good opportunities for EMC screening and for conducting connections (for VDE)
• Ideal for use in difficult ambient conditions (high level of chemical and temperature resistance)
• Low-cost alterations to the enclosure design are always possible
• High level of stability
• High level of impact strength

If your special requirements lead you to choose a special enclosure made of metal, then here, too, it is necessary to select the material. The choice is between aluminium, steel and stainless steel – our designers will recommend the right material based on how and where the enclosure will be used. Depending on these factors, processing of the material you select will be by punching, lasering, bending or milling. The enclosures can then be treated by passivating, zinc plating, anodising, lacquering or powder-coating. Of course, BOPLA’s service includes making an initial sample on the basis of 3D data before series manufacture begins so that the first function tests can be carried out on that sample. We only begin series manufacture in our supplier plants after you have given your approval.

Any additional steps, for example optional services connected with the enclosure (mechanical processing, fitting of electronic components, printing, etc.), electrical testing and the fitting of input units during the manufacturing process of a special metal enclosure are, of course, possible. In addition, accessories can be fitted to the enclosure by means of riveting, pressing or welding.
